have brought you events such as RAW on the dance
floor, RAW sounds, RAW War, Raw V.I.P and many
more - we are now proud to present Australia's first
Junior only Hip Hop Dance Competition.

comps aim to encourage fresh dance crews and
singers to test their
skills in a friendly atmosphere.

know there are so many inspired young dancers
out there eager for a chance to see their crew
name written on that famous ViKiNGs Big Cheque.

RAW was back to kick-start
2009 with the freshest Melbourne crews. The RAW
comps aim to encourage fresh crews to test their
skills in a friendly atmostphere.
RAW on the Dancefloor 2009
has been called "the best RAW event ever!".
That's a pretty big call - there have been many
exciting RAW moments since the series started in
2004.
So what was so special
about RAW 2009? A brand new lineup of fresh
crews bravely faced the packed house - for many
this was their first show together - full of of
excitement and anticipation. The crews had
to earn the respect of a Judgding panel which
balanced street cred with serious
technical ability: Lamaroc, Vince from Rewind,
Kristy from CKDi, Naomi from Dance2XS & Shane
from DVP.
RAW Sounds Heat 1 competitors
were blended amongst the RAW on the dancefloor
crews - keeping the show flowing quickly with a
diverse range of styles. The qualifiers (judged by
past RAW Sounds graduates and now experienced singing
teachers Zabrina Araya and Karen Esco) are through
to the RAW Sounds 2009 Final in July where they
will face an eager batch of singers to graduate
from RAW Sounds Heat 2.
The show was peppered with
innovative showcases by DVP, The Collektive,
Melbourne Lockers &
ViKiNGs, plus stunning singing showcases by Zabrina
Araya & Karen Esco

Who could forget the
showcase by Mac's lil'
breaking crew: Kid Noiz? Their uplifting
showcase was in support of Mac's fundraising
drive for treatment for his son Zion's
blindness. ViKiNGs crew and Liz Honey
Promotions & Entertainment contributed $1,000, and fans at the event topped it up
with hundreds more. If you want to help

Once again the tech crew blew
everyone away with their spine-tingling bass,
pure vocal sounds and
creative lighting shows. Special credit to
Event Manager - Rob Pierantozzi from ViKiNGs and DJ Claud on
the decks.
Overall the event was
sparked into life and guided smoothly throughout by the impeccable
skills and phenomenal memory of MC Young Philly

So thanks to all who
competed, helped out or just came along and
enjoyed the show. And the final result -
almost too close to call ...

Singing AND dancing. Can it
get any better? Actually it can. “RAW

with the talent that astounds many.

Sounds” will stage Melbourne’s finest
urban singers, beatboxers, MC’s and dancers. So
again, can it get any better? Actually, no it
can’t…
…“RAW Sounds” will be the
ULTIMATE RnB/Hip-hop singing competition.

RAW Sounds was another massive event. The fresh
concept of bringing singers to work together
with dances in an R&B / Hip-hop comp brought out
some stunning creativity.
Our congratulations go to all the competitors -
they blew us and the audience away with their
RAW talent and enthusiasm to perform. Thank you
all for the great show.
It just proved that there are a lot performers
that were just waiting for this big chance.
That's what RAW Sound is all about. We are
giving those people a unique experience and
exposure. We can't wait to see what they
can achieve in the future.
Their performances combined with the great
auditorium at the Dallas Brooks Centre and the
professional sound & lighting to make a very
entertaining event.
The success of this event has encouraged us to
plan a follow up event, probably early 2006.
So watch out for RAW SOUNDS 2.

I hope everyone enjoyed RAW Sounds as much as I
did. I watched most of the performances and
everyone demonstrated their full potential. I am
very proud of you ALL and I am filled with joy
to see each group perform full of confidence and
giving their best on the night. I'm sure your

It takes a lot of courage to get up in the

hip-hop/funk dance comp, which succeed in bringing out the freshest,
rawest crews to compete.
The atmosphere was intense as 13 crews gave
their all, while KStar Evolutions COMBUST, NJ
Raimundo, Funkey Fresh and of course ViKiNGs
delivered ground-breaking showcases. All that
was followed by the hottest Battle comp yet.

Twenty two year old Israel has
been on a long and sometimes difficult journey
to reach where he is today.
But rather than dwelling on the negative, Israel
uses his past as motivation for his future. With
an unshakeable faith in his destiny Israel has
spent seven years immersed in music, resulting
in a catalogue of 450 songs, music publishing,
recording deals and his debut single "Wake Up
With You" and upcoming debut album "Chapter 1"
This event presented Israel’s perspective on
his journey through the music industry, in a
full-length concert/musical production that
blended Israel’s original music, dancing and
drama. Israel was backed up by rappers KA$H
and Vallerie.
Melbourne’s hottest dance
crews were dancing back up for Israel, as
well as acting : Detour, Funkey Fresh, Platinum,
Replay, Rewind and of course ViKiNGs.
We are so proud of the show we
put together with Israel, his crew and all the
other people involved. Feedback on this
event was so positive, including: "I was brought
